On February 28th Kansas City will kick off the first day of runway shows at Kansas City Fashion Week. One of the current UCP residents, Maegan Stracy, has been spending the past few months getting ready for the debut of her newest collection on February 28th.
Maegan’s collection focuses on the use of unlikely and innovative materials to create contemporary and fresh sportswear inspired looks. Maegan has been using several different types of vinyl, sequins and water to create unexpected textures and fresh looks. Below are a few images of her work in progress that viewers can expect to see on during her Kansas City Fashion week debut.
If you are interested in coming to the show tickets are available at kansascityfashionweek.com. Tickets range from $15-$60 depending on your preferred proximity to the runway. Shows will begin at 7:00 pm at 28 event space. Several other designers and boutiques will also be showing on February 28th, guaranteeing a exciting and packed evening. Fashion week events will continue though the weekend from Friday night until Sunday afternoon at 28 event space, featuring a variety of aesthetics and approaches to fashion design and a few after parties.
